The problem with most multivitamins and supplements
From caking agents to ineffective amounts, here’s the truth about your multivitamin.

Do multivitamins really work?
The short answer: it depends. Multivitamins can be a great safety net in making sure you cover all your nutritional needs. Multivitamins can work but most multivitamins fall short in terms of both quality and quantity of ingredients.
We made Heights Smart Supplement after spending LOADS of money, time, and energy trying to nail the nutrition for our brains with multivitamins and other supplements. So if you’re taking a multivitamin but feeling nothing here’s what we uncovered about other multivitamins and supplement out there...

The problems with multivitamins
There are four main problems with most of the run of the mill multivitamins that prevent them from really working. Here's what they are:
1. Hidden nasties (from talc to contaminants)
Too many multivitamins and other supplements contain harmful caking agents such as talcum powder (often listed as magnesium silicate), fillers, colourants, toxic dosages, invisible chemicals, and dangerous contaminants. Whilst talc is "generally recognised as safe" (GRAS) by the FDA in the US, talc contains in its natural form sometimes contains asbestos. When inhaled asbestos has been linked to lung cancer, especially after long term exposure. All this is made worse by inaccurate labelling—so you may not even know if these things are lurking inside.
2. Unusable ingredients
Your body can’t always absorb the nutrients in a multivitamin or supplement combination. Some ingredients inhibit the absorption of others or are in versions unusable by the body. Many need to be taken with fats or certain foods in order for the body to absorb them into the bloodstream. So you may be paying for something that isn’t having any nutritional value.
3. Questionable sources
Did you know that a lot of vitamin D is sourced from sheep wool? Or that most omega 3 comes from processed fish oil or fish livers? Not great if you’re on a plant-based diet, or would rather your nutrients come from sustainable sources.
4. Just not enough
Because omega 3 is in liquid form, it's often missed out of multivitamins—except those using a dual capsule. Blueberry antioxidants or high enough doses of certain vitamins are also absent from most multivitamins. This means you’re either missing out on crucial nutrients for the health of your brain and body, or have to take multiple supplements to top up.

What makes the Heights Smart Supplement different?
We've developed Heights as more than your average multivitamin. Thanks to the following five factors it really works in making sure your body can absorb the vitamins and get the full benefits of them.
1. Full transparency
You can see exactly what’s in our capsules. No fillers, no nasties. Nutrients, nothing else—read what our co-founder, Joel, has to say about it.
2. Nutrients you can use
Every ingredient in our capsules works together to make them easy to absorb. And encasing them in algae oil means they’re released slowly and effectively, without needing to take them with food. We also use the most bioavailable form of each nutrient, meaning they're all already in the most absorbable form.
3. Sustainable, plant-based ingredients
Everything in Heights Smart Supplement is vegan, halal, kosher, and allergen-free, as well as being responsibly-sourced.
4. The right doses, according to research
Every ingredient is included in the doses proven to make a difference. And we review the formula every 3 months to keep it up to date with the latest research.
